Jose Nieves Announces Social Media Platforms For Campaign – Promises To Establish Similar Platforms For Queens DA Office

Jose Nieves, who is running to become the next Queens County District Attorney, announced today that his campaign has established the following social media websites:

In making the announcement, Nieves emphasized that he plans to utilize similar platforms in order to ensure that more residents in Queens County are able to interact with the DA’s Office for positive reasons. “Right now, the DA’s Office has a Facebook page that is mostly used to publicize events where the DA has appeared – and a Twitter account that is used almost exclusively to publicize the latest arrest or prosecution of a Queens resident”, Nieves noted. “I want to use these types of communication options to provide a much wider array of information to our residents – and to hear back from them on a regular basis about what’s going on in our community”.

Nieves noted that the current social media accounts of the Queens DA’s Office does not have a lot of followers –  588 for its Facebook page and 1,649 for its Twitter account – and said he wants to increase those numbers dramatically. “We have more than 2.4 million people living in Queens”, Nieves stated, “and we ought to be using social media to interact with as many of them as possible. In order to do that, we have to post more useful and more timely information for our residents – and also give them a good reason to share information with us”.
